Publishing, and what you approve

MembersIntel writes content for your site. Whether any of it goes live — visible to anyone who visits — is a separate question from whether it was written, and the answer is different depending on how your site got here.

On a site you connected yourself

The advisor cannot publish to your site, and nothing publishes by default. Sending a generation to WordPress writes a draft. That draft is invisible to your members until you decide otherwise.

You publish it, and that is a separate deliberate act. You can do this through MembersIntel, with a confirmation that plainly states the page will be publicly visible to anyone who visits — the decision is never inferred from the fact that you generated the content, or from anything else you did. Or you can publish it directly in WordPress yourself, as you would any other post.

The distinction worth holding on to: the model cannot do this. Publishing is something you do, in one place or the other.

On a site MembersIntel builds for you

This is the one case where MembersIntel publishes automatically, covered by one approval you gave during the build.

During the build you are asked plainly:

We’re writing starter pages for your new site. If you approve, we’ll publish them to your live site as they’re written, so anyone who visits can read them. You won’t see them before they go live.

That last sentence is the important one and it is not softened anywhere. The approval is given before the pages exist, because publishing happens as each one is written. There is no preview step, no review queue, and no stage where you check the pages and then release them. If a preview is what you want, decline — that is what declining gives you.

If you approve: starter pages are published to your live site as they are written. Your approval is recorded, along with when you gave it, and the build screen shows that back to you afterwards. You can edit or unpublish any page from your own site whenever you like.

If you decline: every page is saved as a draft and nothing is published. You publish whichever ones you want, whenever you want, from your own site.

Declining is a complete outcome, not a dead end

This is worth saying on its own, because a decline in most products means something went wrong.

Here it does not. The build carries on to the end either way — it does not stop, stall, or wait for you to change your mind. Your site is built, your account is set up, your starter pages exist. The only difference is whether they are live or drafts. Nothing is held up and nothing is left half-done.

You can also change your mind at the point of asking, in either direction, before the build gets there.

Why the approval is asked once, up front

Publishing happens as each page is written, not in a batch at the end. So the approval has to come before the writing does — there is no later moment when the pages exist but are not yet live.

That is the honest trade, and it is why the question is asked the way it is rather than as “continue” or “finish setup”. Softening it would make the recorded approval a lie about what you actually agreed to.
